Thomas L Friedman, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist for The New York Times, wrote the article "Radical in the White House". The article appeared in The New York Times' Opinion section on January 20, 2009, the day Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44Th president of The United States. The article was written to give the citizens of The United States perspective. It told people how far we've come in this country, but also how far we still have to go to fix what is broken with our government.
Friedman wrote that he hoped Obama was a radical a I agree. I hope Obama shakes up Washington. This country has been run by big business too long. It's time to help the little people and fix the economy. It is time for Obama to show us he is the president we all hope him to be. Obama has his work cut out for him, Bush ran this country into the ground, so to speak. I don't know exactly how Mr. Obama plans to fix this country, but I hope he can. He has united a our nation, influenced a generation. He must succeed or our country will not survive.
